•Oversee a small team of experienced upholstery manufacturing employees •Prioritize work schedule and delegate work assignments •Lead and influence the process of enhancing the upholstery section including their capacity, processes, machinery, capability, techniques and quality standards •Follow industry best practice and produce the highest quality work in order to meet our clients’ requirements •Contribute to the technical standards we set, as well as drive improvements in the production methods we use to continue to improve our level of workmanship •Liaise and work closely with the estimation teams to help clarify tender requirements and proposed execution methods •Consider and suggest potential value engineering and quality improvements when reviewing shop drawings •Drive daily production and delivery times •Ensure all staff are trained in quality standards and processes and drive adherence to those standards •Track and communicate relevant metrics including team performance, quality measures and on-time performance •Coordinate with production managers to address upholstery division-related inquiries and resolve problems •Lead and participate in cross-functional and departmental team meetings to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality with special focus on cost minimization and reduction Personal qualities and experience: •Minimum of 10 years of experience in the joinery, FF&E and metalwork fit-out industry •Minimum of 5 years of experience running an upholstery section in a supervisory or management role •Good understanding of the different qualities of materials to be able to suggest innovations and value engineering •Experience in production of luxury finishes, bespoke furniture and high-end products (e.g. for five-star hotels, quality food and beverage outlets, high-end retail outlets and private residences)
