Job Role Responsible for mechanical designs, material purchase specifications and quality assurance systems related to transformers in order to meet customers technical requirements and quality expectations. Job Responsibilities • Preparation of detailed mechanical designs of distribution transformers up to 20mVA, 33kV class. • Assist the marketing department in the preparation of tender documents • Preparation of manufacturing drawings. • Preparation of purchase specifications and assistance to the Purchase Department in Vendor evaluations. • Technical assistance to the production and procurement departments during manufacturing. • Decisions on deviations from the design during manufacturing. • Assistance in finalizing the Budget for R&D. • Root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement of existing designs based on manufacturing or site feedback. • Development of new products in line with customer expectations, and market intelligence and to increase competitiveness. Specific Objectives and Performance measurement criteria: • Customer satisfaction indices including a reduction in complaints, and acceptance during factory inspections. • New product development • Annual savings in materials • Planned and actual expenditures Minimum Qualifications & experience (cannot be diluted): • Degree in Engineering. • 5 years of work experience in the transformer industry • Hands-on experience in mechanical design of transformers up to 20mVA, 33kV class. • Hands-on experience with customer technical specifications. Desired Qualifications & experience: • Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Involvement in new product development, and design improvements. • Customer interactions • Vendor development and evaluations. • After-sales service exposure
